The Lexmark MS431dn is a monochrome laser printer designed for small workgroups and individual users who need fast, dependable output without taking up valuable desk space. Measuring just 222 × 368 × 363 mm, it fits comfortably into tight workspaces and is light enough to reposition with ease. Despite its compact form factor, it delivers output at up to 40 pages per minute with a first page out in as little as 5.9 seconds, making it well suited to environments where quick turnaround matters.
Print resolution reaches up to 2400 × 600 dpi, producing crisp, professional text and clean line art across a range of document types. Under the hood, a 1 GHz dual-core processor and 256 MB of memory ensure the printer handles complex and multi-page jobs without slowing down, even when serving multiple users over the network.
The MS431dn ships with a 250-sheet input tray and a 100-sheet multipurpose feeder for a standard capacity of 350 sheets, with a 150-sheet output tray on top. An optional 550-sheet tray brings the total input capacity to 900 sheets, supporting longer print runs with fewer interruptions. The printer handles a broad range of media sizes from A6 through to Legal and supports media types including envelopes, card stock, and labels. Automatic duplex printing comes as standard, helping to reduce paper consumption as a matter of course.
Lexmark's Unison Toner technology is available in multiple yield options, with the Extra High Yield cartridge delivering up to 20,000 pages. A High Yield option rated at up to 15,000 pages and a standard cartridge rated at up to 3,000 pages are also available, giving organisations the flexibility to match supply costs to their actual print volumes. The printer ships with a starter cartridge included in the box.
Built around a steel frame with a lifetime fuser, the MS431dn is engineered for long-term reliability with minimal maintenance. The maximum monthly duty cycle reaches 80,000 pages, making it robust enough for consistently busy small-office environments. The combination of durable construction and low-maintenance design keeps the total cost of ownership firmly in check.
Lexmark's full-spectrum security architecture protects information in the document, on the device, over the network, and at every point in between. A standard Confidential Print feature allows users to hold jobs until a PIN is entered at the printer, preventing sensitive documents from sitting unattended in the output tray. Connectivity is provided via Gigabit Ethernet and USB 2.0, and the printer supports Apple AirPrint and Mopria for convenient mobile printing. A two-line monochrome LCD display offers straightforward access to settings and status information.
The MS431dn holds EPEAT Silver and ENERGY STAR certifications, backed by built-in energy-saving modes that keep power consumption low. Lexmark's Cartridge Collection Programme and Equipment Collection Programme facilitate recycling and help minimise waste, supporting organisations in meeting their environmental commitments.
